{"id":2068,"date":"2008-01-24T08:18:12","date_gmt":"2008-01-24T14:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/?p=2068"},"modified":"2015-01-28T08:32:40","modified_gmt":"2015-01-28T14:32:40","slug":"6-3-7-keel-installation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/2008\/01\/24\/6-3-7-keel-installation\/","title":{"rendered":"6.3.7 Keel Installation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pps-series-post-details pps-series-post-details-variant-classic pps-series-post-details-4068\" data-series-id=\"30\"><div class=\"pps-series-meta-content\"><div class=\"pps-series-meta-text\">This entry is part 19 of 42 in the series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/series\/06-fuselage\/\">06 - Fuselage<\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><p>Now that all the inspection panels have been created and the hardpoints put in, it&#8217;s time to install the keel.\u00a0 This is pretty significant since moving around inside the fuselage will be much more difficult once the keel is in.<\/p>\n<p>The location of the keel is marked on the floor of the fuselage and then the front section of the keel in put in position. Holes are drilled in the flanges to hold it in place with cleco&#8217;s. Then the position is verified again. Once I&#8217;m certain that it&#8217;s right, I removed the keel, mixed up a batch of structural adhesive and applied it to the flanges.
