This sucker was pricey too. Malcolm had some steel stock with the same cross-section as the pitot tube. The alignment is important to insure a correct airspeed indication.<\/p>\n<p>Forward alignment is accomplished using a framing square clamped to the canard bulkhead and visually referencing the pitot tube to the framing square.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMAG0310.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-279\" title=\"IMAG0310\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/IMAG0310-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And we used a digital level to verify that it&#8217;s&#8230; level.
