{"id":3517,"date":"2016-01-27T14:32:04","date_gmt":"2016-01-27T20:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/?p=3517"},"modified":"2016-03-19T14:42:11","modified_gmt":"2016-03-19T20:42:11","slug":"15-1-6-weatherstripping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/27\/15-1-6-weatherstripping\/","title":{"rendered":"15-1-6 Weatherstripping"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pps-series-post-details pps-series-post-details-variant-classic pps-series-post-details-4068\" data-series-id=\"39\"><div class=\"pps-series-meta-content\"><div class=\"pps-series-meta-text\">This entry is part 5 of 9 in the series <a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/series\/15-interior\/\">15 - Interior<\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><p>I think the factory supplied weatherstripping leaves a bit to be desired as far as sealing without creating problems closing the doors.\u00a0 The problem is when my door openings were created, the gap varies quite a bit.\u00a0 Me and Malcolm tried to figure out a way to make the space consistent, but it would have been a ton of work.<\/p>\n<p>So I picked up a couple sizes of very compressible weatherstripping from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcmaster.com\/#catalog\/122\/3515\/=11lzyn5\">McMaster-Carr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/93085k11c2-style12-j05l.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-3520\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/93085k11c2-style12-j05l-150x142.png\" alt=\"93085k11c2-style12-j05l\" width=\"150\" height=\"142\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After testing a couple different sizes, I determined that the 1\/2&#8243; thick material was perfect.
