This is due to the hinge cutouts.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the top of the pilot side door opening with the door removed. You can see where the two hinges mount.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_20120522_120420.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-933\" title=\"IMG_20120522_120420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_20120522_120420-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s a closeup. Notice how you can see though? That&#8217;s how rainwater ends up in your lap.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_20120522_120425.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-930\" title=\"IMG_20120522_120425\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/IMG_20120522_120425-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Malcolm suggested covering this opening. So I got a piece of scrap fiberglass and cut it to the correct shape.
