Before I cut the oil access door, I&#8217;m going to join the upper and lower cowl at the rear. The two cowl halves are installed and clamps are used to hold the rear of the cowl together. Then a five BID layup is used to create a flange on each side of the prop opening.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/2012-06-01-IMG_20120601_063649.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-981\" title=\"2012-06-01 IMG_20120601_063649\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/2012-06-01-IMG_20120601_063649-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/2012-06-01-IMG_20120601_063700.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-982\" title=\"2012-06-01 IMG_20120601_063700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.velocity-xl.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/2012-06-01-IMG_20120601_063700-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once the layup has cured, a hole is drilled that will hold the two halves together and the manufacturing flange is cut away.
